OLY

OLY. Short for Olympic Lifting. This is where The Olympic Body Shop derives its name.

Teaching the very technical aspects of the Olympic Lifts is one of the major focuses and passions of Coach Jake. Olympic Lifting tests aspects of human ballistic limits (explosive strength) and the lifts therefore are executed faster -- and with more mobility and a greater range of motion during their execution -- than other lifts. The Snatch and Clean and Jerk are both dynamic and explosive while appearing graceful, especially when viewed from a recording at slower speeds. These two lifts and their components are commonly used by elite athletes in other sports to train for both explosive and functional strength, which is why we employ them in our CrossFit training at The Olympic Body Shop.

We offer Private, Group and Team training in Olympic (Oly) Weightlifting.

PRIVATE TRAINING
Private training for Oly works just as any other personal training does. You can schedule single sessions or schedule and pay for a series at a discount per session. Coach Jake will train you according to your specific needs and goals.

GROUPS & TEAMS
Training will be tailored for the needs and goals of the group. This is a great option for school or club athletic teams who don't otherwise have access to the necessary equipment and coaching expertise. We also offer private seminars for teams and their coaches.
